Burgers With Black Beans

Add beans to increase fiber and nutrients to some already yummy burgers.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound grass fed ground beef
  • 1  14oz can black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1T garlic powder
  • 1T italian seasoning

Directions

  1. Smash beans separately.  When sufficiently smashed combine beans and ground beef in a medium bowl.
  2. Add the egg, seasoning, and garlic powder and mix well (we use our hands)
  3. Once combined form into 6 even patties.
  4. Cook burgers on the grill or pan fry to your preference.
  5. Add your favorite toppings, maybe a bun, and enjoy.
  6. Here are some topping ideas:  ketchup, mustard, mayo, ranch dressing, lettuce, spinach, tomato, sliced bell pepper, avocado, bacon, fried egg.

*Many different seasonings can be used for burgers.  Italian seasoning is our basic “go to” but you can also try; seasoned salt (no msg), steak seasoning, basil, rosemary, coriander for a sweeter flavor, or experiment with something new.

 

Chicken Stir Fry

A quick and delicious weeknight dinner that’s sure to please everyone!


Chicken Stir Fry

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds frozen grilled chicken strips
  • 2 12ounce packages of frozen stir fry vegetables
  • 2 T Bragg’s liquid aminos, plus more for topping
  • 1 T Olive oil
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Dried oregano
  • 1 tsp Dried thyme
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper

Directions

  1. Heat oil in a large wok or other large pan on medium-high heat.
  2. Add frozen chicken and 2T of Bragg’s liquid aminos to the pan and cook for 5 minutes.
  3. Add the frozen vegetables, seasonings, and another splash of Bragg’s liquid aminos. Stir-fry until everything is cooked through and any liquid has evaporated.
  4. Serve hot over quick cooking brown rice. Top with Bragg’s liquid aminos to taste. Enjoy!
